Apple ger normalt sett iOS-uppdateringar i ca 6 år efter att iPhone-modellen i fråga lanserats. Nyare modeller får oftast längre stöd för nya uppdateringar än äldre iPhone-modeller.

Ja, normalt sett är äldre iPhones som inte längre kan uppdateras säkra att använda. Men tänk på att de inte längre får säkerhetsuppdateringar och att populära appar såsom Swish och Bank-ID förr eller senare kommer sluta fungera.
Hur länge kommer Apple ge min nya iPhone uppdateringar?
Köper du en iPhone 15 eller senare har Apple lovat att du kommer få iOS-uppdateringar i minst 7 år efter släppdatum. För att ta ett exempel kommer iPhone 16, som lanserades 2024, få uppdateringar minst fram till 2031.
Är det smart att köpa en iPhone som inte kan uppdateras?
Nej, förr eller senare kommer viktiga appar från App Store inte längre fungera, och säkerhetsuppdateringar kommer inte att släppas till mobilen. Smartast är att köpa en billig iPhone som har många års garanterade iOS-uppdateringar kvar.
